How to Commission a Portrait
How to Commission your Portrait (UK & Worldwide Clients Only - excluding EU & NI - see FAQ page for an explanation)
I am always happy to discuss anything about your commission before starting on your order. Please read the FAQ page as this covers the most common questions asked and provides a lot of information on the quality of photo/s required.
Step 1
Initial Enquiry - start your order by filling in a few details on my contact page or you can email me at info@sterlingleeauto.art Send me some photos of your pet (sending a few helps me see the subject from different angles etc). I aim to reply to emails the next working day. (see FAQ’s page re photo requirements)
Step 2
Quote & Deposit Payment - once I’ve received your images, we can agree on the size, background, deadline etc and you will be emailed a written quote. Please note delivery is extra and will be itemised on your quote.
Once you accept and pay the necessary non-refundable deposit of 50% your space will be reserved in my order book.
Step 3
Photo to Portrait - Once I’m ready to start your commission and depending on the size/complexity of the piece, it will take approximately 15 - 30 hrs to complete (wildlife subjects often take longer because of more complex backgrounds). I can provide progress shots as I work through the various stages of the piece, or can provide these after completion of the portrait.
Step 4
Payment & Delivery - I will email you the balance invoice which can be paid by BACS or Paypal. Once payment is received the artwork will be securely packaged and sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery (which usually takes 1-2 working days to UK addresses). For delivery outside the UK, I use ParcelForce Worldwide which can take 10 - 14 working days. Please note for overseas orders, taxes/import duties etc are the responsibility of the buyer. All artwork is insured and trackable. If you are local you can of course collect your portrait once payment has been received.
Step 5
Leave a Review - it is always wonderful to receive feedback and I am always grateful when clients send me a review. You can either email me at info@sterlingleeauto.art or leave a review on my facebook business page.
